Dynamic Dropdown Value

Sync dropdown values from a source column to destination columns across multiple sheets automatically.

Dynamic Dropdown Value syncs dropdown values from a source column to destination columns across multiple sheets automatically. Use it to keep contact lists, status values, or unique identifiers consistent across a solution.

Overview

Dynamic Dropdown Value is workflow-based with two modes:

  • Mode 1 — Specific Sheet — sync to specific destination sheets
  • Mode 2 — SCC Integration — sync to newly provisioned sheets automatically

Prerequisites

  • A Solution Manager account.
  • The source column must be a dropdown column in Smartsheet.
  • For Mode 2, your SCC blueprint must be configured with the settings described in the SCC Integration setup flow.

Mode 1 — Specific Sheet

  1. Click Dynamic Dropdown Value from the Solution Manager home screen.
  2. Click Create New Workflow.
  3. Select your source sheet and source dropdown column.
  4. In Destination Columns, click Add Destination.
  5. Select the destination sheet and the dropdown column to keep in sync.
  6. Repeat for every additional destination.
  7. Click Save Workflow.

Mode 2 — SCC Integration

  1. Click Dynamic Dropdown Value and then Create New Workflow.
  2. Select your source sheet and source dropdown column.
  3. Click Click Here next to SCC Integration.
  4. Review the Before You Begin details and follow the prompts to configure the SCC integration.
  5. Click Confirm SCC Integration.
  6. Add destination sheets and columns from the blueprint template.
  7. Click Save Workflow.

Troubleshooting

Dropdown values are not updating on destination sheets. Confirm the workflow is active and that the source column is still a dropdown type. If the column type was changed, the workflow will stop syncing.

Some destination sheets are not updating. Confirm destination sheets are owned by users within your plan and that the destination column is still a dropdown type.

Mode 2 workflows are not being created for newly provisioned sheets. Review the SCC blueprint configuration against the Before You Begin requirements.
