If you want to identify specific data types that already exist, or estimate the size of your Smartsheet plan before a full scan, use Scan for Sensitive Data.
- Navigate to the Scan for Sensitive Data screen.
- Select specific data types or pre-existing rules to scan.
- Optionally, choose to include attachments. Scanning attachments increases data usage.
- Click Start Scanning. A modal appears with options:
- Estimate Data Usage: See estimated data usage before incurring scan costs. Results are emailed upon completion.
- Full Scan: Perform a complete scan. A CSV is generated with flagged data details upon completion.
- Check your email for scan results. Processing time can range from 15 minutes to up to a week, depending on plan size.
